About the Editor and Publisher of Weird House
Joe Morey, former editor, and publisher of Dark Regions Press (1985 – 2013), and Dark Renaissance Books has been publishing small press specialty books for thirty-four years and has decided to start a new specialty press: Weird House which will specialize in publishing literary horror, dark fantasy, and poetry collections. Our emphasis will be upon beautiful hardcover editions, signed, and signed and numbered editions, trade paperback editions, and e-book editions. Many of the editions will be embellished with art, and carefully designed to add a level of sophistication and elegance. Many of our books will be designed with a Victorian aesthetic in mind.
The Victorian imprint will be recognizable from our other books by a beautiful front cover Victorian stamp which will appear only on the books written in this era. The deluxe A-Z lettered editions will be bound in bonded leather, include artsy end papers, signed by both author and artist, full-color frontispiece when applicable, interior color, or, black and white illustrations, and in some cases extra fiction, poetry, and art, classy colored book ribbons with full colored headbands and foot bands, gold foil stamped on the front cover, spine, and back cover, and a well-made slipcase. The 150 – 200 signed and numbered editions will be bound in an Arrestox B cloth with 80 lb. natural white end sheets, headbands, and footbands, signed by the author, and gold foil stamped on the front cover, spine, and the back cover of the book. The trades will sport a beautiful 12-point full-color cover. All Weird House book hardcovers and trades are printed on 60 lb. natural book stock. Most importantly, and gratifying is that every edition produced will have excellent fiction, or poetry, and excellent production values. I believe these fine books will be wonderful additions to any genre fiction collection.
